ASRock launches X570 PG Velocita Motherboard

As AMD officially launches its Ryzen 5000 series CPUs based on the Zen 3 architecture, ASRock is seizing the opportunity to showcase its new X570 motherboard for the latest AMD Ryzen series processors. The board was named ASRock X570 PG Velocita!

Velocita follows a fairly standard ATX layout, in the center is an AM4 socket designed for the new Ryzen 5000 processors, backed by four DDR4 memory slots with DDR4 5000 support. In the lower half of the board, you'll find two PCI-Express 4.0 x16 slots that will work in 8x if are both busy or a full 16 lanes if only the top slot is used. Because the board is focused on speed, ASRock has equipped the board with a luxurious 14-phase VRM circuit to power the CPU, claiming that you also have "huge overclocking capabilities".

The chipset of the board cools the heatsink along with a small fan that can spin up to 6500 rpm, and the VRM has a large heatsink that extends around the CPU socket.

For storage, ASRock equipped the board with two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (one of which is wired through the chipset) for NVMe SSDs, along with a total of eight SATA ports.

In keeping with the name of the board alluding to speed, ASRock also opted for the ‘Killer DoubleShot Pro’ Ethernet, which combines WiFi 6 capabilities through the Killer AX1650 controller with 2.5 Gbe Ethernet using the Killer E3100 controller.

Of course, you don't have to use this motherboard only with the AMD 5000 Series CPU. It's still not clear what the availability of Zen 3 chips will be, so in the meantime, the AMD Ryzen 3000 Series CPU will work quite well on this board with options for future upgrades.
