MSI introduces the GeForce RTX 3090 AERO
MSI has introduced the GeForce RTX 3090 AERO graphics card, the latest in the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 line of models with rear, side coolers. These GPU models are designed for environments with limited airflow (such as rendering farms). The MSI RTX 3090 AERO is very reminiscent of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 "Fermi" model.
The MSI RTX 3090 AERO has a blower that conducts warm air laterally, through a ribbed aluminum heat conductor that is not hidden under the cooler grille. The MSI AERO uses two 8-pin PCI connectors, which are located on one end of the GPU.
Only half of the back of the graphics card is covered by a backplate, which cools the memory chips stored there. The other half is pure PCB. The MSI GeForce RTX 3090 AERO graphics card features clock speeds as with the reference Nvidia RTX 3090 model. MSI did not announce the price of the GPU.
