The list of Steam games that earned the most during 2020 has been published
Valve has released its list of best-selling PC games, which reveals which titles earned the most during 2020. The list is based on the gross revenue of each of the games, not on the number of copies sold on the platform. This allowed several free games to appear on the list.
Within the Platinum category, which includes the 12 games on the Steam platform that have earned the most, there are titles like GTA V, Rainbow Six Siege, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which is older. The list also includes some newer games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Fall Guys.
Despite being free titles, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, and Destiny 2 are among the Steam games that earn the most, confirming how well the free-to-play model can work for some titles.
The Gold section consists of the next 12 games that earned the most during 2020. There are Warframe (another free game), Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Sea of Thieves, and others. Despite being exclusive to the Epic Games Store for six months, Borderlands 3 managed to find itself among the 24 games that make the most money on Steam, showing the strength of Valve's platform.
The Silver category consists of games such as Witcher 3, Stellaris, Euro Truck Simulator, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. There’s also a bronze category, which includes the rest of the Top 100 list of games they earn the most and includes titles like Football Manager 2021, Horizon Zero Dawn, Apex Legends, and Sekiro. The complete list is available in the source line.
