The new Nintendo console will be released in 3-4 years, says the head of the company
Nintendo boss Doug Bowser has revealed when players can expect a successor to the Switch console.
He stated in an interview with Polygon that the Nintendo Switch is currently in the middle of its life cycle, which essentially means that a successor could appear in 3 to 4 years (maybe even earlier), since the console itself appeared in early 2017.
It has not been revealed what exactly could be expected until then, but we believe that Nintendo will maintain the formula thanks to which the Switch sells extremely well, even better than the next-gen console.
Of course, that doesn’t mean there won’t be different versions of the Switch console in the future. So far, we have seen a version with a stronger battery, then the Lite edition, and rumors are currently circulating that a Switch model is being prepared that will be able to run games in 4K resolution. The leader of Nintendo said that at the moment the focus is not on that, because the current models of the console are making record profits.
