The Nvidia AD102 (Lovelace) GPU could offer up to 18432 CUDA cores
Recently, information emerged that Nvidia will release a new graphics architecture, called Lovelace. This is expected to be the company’s next gaming architecture, which could appear before Hopper architecture.
Lovelace could implement an increase in GPC (Graphics Processing Clusters) to 12, which is twice as much as the Turing GA102 GPU has. This suggests a new tweet from @ kopite7kimi. The GPU could have as many as 72 TPCs (Texture Processor Clusters) and 144 SMs (Streaming Multiprocessors). With 144 SM, the GPU could have 18432 CUDA cores (144 x 128), which is 71% more than with the GA102 GPU.
It is not known when the new nail architecture would be released. Kopite7kimi only started publishing information on this architecture this month, which means that it is still very fresh.
The Nvidia Lovelace AD102 GPU could arrive as part of the GeForce RTX 40 series, possibly after the RTX 30 SUPER refresh (which has not yet been confirmed). Nvidia is expected to refresh its current line over the next quarter, with RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti models.
