AMD warns of a further shortage of PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, the same goes for computers
It seems that the new generation of consoles will not be able to be bought by anyone who wants to, at least not for a while.
Renowned manufacturer of graphics chips and processors, AMD, presented its predictions, and it can be said that there are warnings related to the lack of parts needed for the new generation consoles. The director of the company, Lisa Su, stated that the shortage will last at least until the end of the first half of 2021.
As for the remaining 6 months in 2021, Lisa announces an improved situation as production capacity will be expanded, and the pandemic is projected to ease, which has also negatively affected hardware production itself.
Since AMD graphics cards and processors are in the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles, this problem will have the biggest impact on their availability, as it has in the previous months since their launch. The PC market will also be affected by shortages but in a milder form.
Earlier, it was predicted that the distribution of next-gen consoles would be normalized by March this year, but unfortunately, that will take a few more months (at least).
