LG will demonstrate a 4K Bendable CSO gaming display during CES
In addition to several transparent OLED demos, the LG Display will also show a gaming-oriented concept during the CES 2021 virtual fair.
It is a 48-inch "Bendable CSO (Cinematic Sound OLED) display", which can change the shape between a flat and a curved screen. The idea is that the user can enjoy watching videos on a flat-screen and at the touch of a button the monitor switches to a curved screen, with a radius of up to 1000mm, for more immersive gaming.
Cinematic Sound OLED uses a 0.6mm thin-film stimulator, which turns the entire OLED panel into a speaker. This allows for a thinner monitor, and as audio arrives directly from the screen it will allow for a more immersive gaming and video experience.
The South Korean company points out that the Bendable CSO monitor supports variable refresh rates from 40Hz to 120Hz, which is the minimum for today's gaming monitors. More details will be available during the CES presentation of the display.
