Sony Bravia TVs for 2021 implement HDMI 2.1, Google TV and Cognitive Processor XR
The Sony Bravia line of TVs for 2021 arrives in LED and OLED variants and sizes from 50 to 100 inches. The TVs feature HDMI 2.1, a standard Google TV interface, and the new Cognitive Processor XR.
HDMI 2.1 is a significant addition, which is essential for owners of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles who want to play in full 4K @ 120Hz resolution.
Certainly, the biggest new feature is the Cognitive Processor XR, and it’s Sony’s latest chipset for image and sound processing, which simultaneously analyzes multiple elements on the screen and adjusts parameters for optimal image quality. Sound is another focus of the new chip because it can analyze the position of the sound signal and pair it with the image. Also, it scales traditional sound elements into 3D surround sound.
The new Sony Bravia TVs also come with support for variable refresh rates, have an automatic low latency mode, and support Dolby Vision HDR.
The premium Master Series Z9J 8K LED model comes in sizes of 85 and 75 inches, while the A90J Master Series 4K OLED model is available in 55, 65, and 83-inch variants. The A80J 4K OLED model comes in sizes from 55 to 77 inches, while the X90J 4K LED from the lower segment has models up to 100 inches.
The price and availability of the new Sony Bravia TV line have not been announced, but more details could be available during CES next week.
