Steam starts 2021 with a record number of simultaneous players on the platform

Steam started 2021 very well, and the platform has already recorded an exceptional result with over 25 million users at the same time, which broke the record from last month.

The record comes almost a month after the release of the Cyberpunk 2077 game on Steam. Recent game releases, such as Apex Legends, also contribute to Valve’s success. Of course, older titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and GTA V were still dominant when it came to the number of players during the holiday season.

 

As many regions introduce new austerity measures regarding quarantine and the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, a large number of people are turning to the game and online socializing with friends they cannot visit. This has led a lot of people to platforms like Steam.

At the moment, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the most popular game on Steam, and this title is currently played by over a million players.
