Team Group has created the first DDR5 SO-DIMM modules for next-generation laptops
The era of DDR5 memory is approaching, and Team Group is ready for these changes. The company has successfully created DDR5 DIMM and SO-DIMM memory modules for desktop and mobile systems.
Team Group claims that it will probably be the first manufacturer to have DDR5 SO-DIMM validated by AMD and Intel, which means it will also be the first manufacturer to create the next generation of validated DDR5 SO-DIMMs.
Currently, the DDR5 SO-DIMM specifications are similar to their desktop counterparts and come with low voltage, reduced power consumption, on-die ECC support, and higher frequencies compared to DDR4. Team Group's DDR5 SO-DIMM currently has 16GB of memory and a frequency of 4800MHz, with operation at 1.1V.
In its announcement, Team Group emphasizes that it has published the features and specifications that come from successfully developed products. The company has confirmed that it plans to work with processor and motherboard manufacturers to achieve higher DRAM speeds in the future.
