MSI confirms that the company’s Z490 motherboards will support PCIe 4.0 GPUs and SSDs
MSI has confirmed that the company's Z490 motherboards are ready for next-generation Intel processors, and will support PCIe 4.0 competition via PCIe and M.2 slots.
The PCIe 4.0 connection will require a PCIe 4.0 compatible processor, which means it will only be available for Intel’s 11th generation Rocket Lake processors. MSI has already updated its Z490 BIOS with support for Rocket Lake.

Through a BIOS update, the MSI Z490 will offer excellent throughput and performance for PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs and graphics cards.
According to MSI, thanks to complete PCIe 4.0 solutions, MSI Z490 motherboards provide the most stable design for PCIe 4.0 and unlock full performance for PCIe 4.0 devices.
