Microsoft's first-party studio The Coalition remains committed to working on the Gears of War franchise, and this is confirmed by the latest information published on the official website of this studio.

Judging by this information, which mainly concerns new job postings, The Coalition has already started work on the new Gears. These job postings cover a fair number of positions, from artists to animators to community managers, which could mean that there is a good chance that part of the team will stay to work on new content and support for Gears 5, while the other part of the team could already work on a new game.

Given that the fifth sequel has been out for some time, there is a chance that we will see the announcement of a new game in some form as early as the second half of this year, while its release could follow there sometime in the fall of 2022.
