The Rocket League mobile version arrives this year
Rocket League is considered to be a fairly unique game on the market, as it combines a passion for football with head-scratching car rides. That mix contributed to the game becoming and remaining extremely popular all these years, and it experienced an additional rise in popularity when it officially became free.
The Rocket League is now moving to mobile phones, with the game Sideswipe, which will soon appear for Android and iOS devices. The Rocket League Sideswipe will feature the main game mechanics with matches in a slightly more modest format. Each will last about 2 minutes and will be in 1v1 or 2v2 format.
This mobile title won’t be the same as its big brother on PCs and consoles, but developer Psyonix has made some changes to make the RL adapt to play on touch screens. These include a changed control scheme, as well as a changed camera perspective to make it easier to follow the match on a small screen.
Sideswipe will be completely free to play. which is great news, but unfortunately there is currently no known release date. Psyonix says that it will appear by the end of the year, and before that, it will be held through beta tests.
You can see what the game looks like below in the alpha gameplay.
