Dying Light 2 will allow for a complete cooperative transition
Entering 2021, we started getting more and more information about Dying Light 2 after the whole of 2020 was shrouded in a veil of secrecy. There was news that the game is coming out this year, the map will be four times larger than the original and will have raytracing support on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.
On Dying Light’s official Discord server, Techland’s community manager shared information regarding the cooperative experience in the second part of Dying Light. This segment will work on the same principle as in the original, which means that a maximum of four people will be able to survive together, but with one modification. In the first Dying Light, only 95% of the game could be passed cooperatively, while the sequel will offer the possibility of 100% cooperative survival, which means from the very beginning to the end.
The introductory few hours in Dying Light had to be tackled individually, and the final act also did not allow for a cooperative adventure. Since a branched story will be a major factor in gameplay, decisions in a cooperative environment will be made solely by the player the others have joined.
The aforementioned manager denied rumors that Dying Light 2 will have a base building system. On the contrary, it will not be, but the known safe locations from the original will be in the upcoming title and will work the same way.
