The Addams Family gets another game
The Addams Family series has been around for over 80 years and throughout its history, it has had several horrible but also several good games. Terrible not to mention, I remember a pretty fun 2D platformer from 1992 that was played on SNES, Sega Mega Drive, and Amiga consoles. To my surprise, there hasn’t been an Addams Family game on consoles in the last 20 years, and that should change this fall.
The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem, a 3D (puzzle) platformer that will be able to be played solo or cooperatively in four players, has just been announced. We will be able to control Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, and Wednesday, and explore the complicated history of the strange family.
The game has been announced for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch and although developer PHL Collective boasts of bringing Addams back to consoles after two decades, it seems they have decided to put them back where they left off 20 years ago. To put it mildly, the game presentation looks like it has delayed one generation of consoles if not two. At least that's how it seems to me from the trailer - who knows, maybe it's just a matter of * aesthetics *.
In any case, The Addams Family Mansion Mayhem comes out on September 24, 2021.
