Replaced - The retro-futuristic 2.5D platformer
Developer Sad Cat Studios and publisher Coatsink have decided to offer us a different version of the 80s than the one you remember or have seen in most movies. . Replaced brings a pixel art style that compliments the aesthetics of the 80s, a struggle inspired by flowing action and an interesting story with a multitude of unexpected twists. Players will find themselves in the role of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence trapped in the human body against their will.
Nearly 40 years after the Phoenix-City nuclear explosion, corruption reigns, and bioengineering is at its peak with Phoenix Corp., which is built on the idea of “connecting” volunteer donors and greedy clients who want upgrades for their bodies. Over time, it was discovered that voluntary supply was declining and lagging behind fast-growing demand, but shortly thereafter the wealthiest clients were able to grab anything, while citizens began to disappear at an alarming rate.
It was too late when people finally realized what was going on, and Phoenix Corp was already running the entire state, throwing debris and reluctant donors into landfills outside the city walls to live as outlaws.
In the early days, the corporation began researching how artificial intelligence could help manage their system more efficiently, and thus the prototypes were created for R.E.A.C.H, their main artificial intelligence.
As things currently stand, Replaced has been announced for 2022, and the game will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and with the Xbox Game Pass.
