Rumors are spreading about the remaster of the cult game Legacy of Cain: Soul Reaver
The two-century-old vampire adventure Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver will get its remaster, reportedly. At least that's what the co-founder of the Xboxer portal, Nick "Shpeshal", says, who has a colorful history of successful and unsuccessful forecasting of things - sometimes he's right, sometimes he's not.
Nick says he’s heard Soul Reaver’s remaster is in development and expects it to be announced this year. Not exactly reliable information, but there may be fires in that smoke.
Namely, Legacy of Cain: Soul Reaver was recently removed from sale on Steam. And when we say removed, we mean that it has not been permanently withdrawn - its page is still on Steam, you just can't buy the game because you are greeted by the following message:
"Square Enix has temporarily removed this game from sale to work on some important updates."
Important updates = remaster? It doesn't sound so crazy, we have to admit. Otherwise, the existence of a soul Reaver remasters in the PC version would be very justified. The version sold on Steam so far was outdated for today’s standard - it was locked at 30 fps and wasn’t exactly compatible with many controllers. Even emulating the Dreamcast version in some cases offered a better Soul Reaver gaming experience than the pure PC version.
