The creator Mario and Zelda revealed which games are his favorite and what he has been playing for the last two years
Nintendo is today one of the oldest living video game manufacturers. Given that their games haven’t lost in popularity over the last 40 years, it’s an interesting question what inspires Nintendo’s greatest creatives and current leaders. Or rather: are there other people's games that I can say are their favorite.
It was this question that was asked at a recent meeting of Nintendo shareholders. The answers were rather boring - Nintendo leaders preferred games mostly those they made themselves. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa thus says that his favorite card game at the moment is Hanafuda as part of Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.
Only the creator of Maria and Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, admitted that he was inspired by the games of other creators and that he still plays the game from the west.
“The first game that influenced me when I started doing video games was Pac-Man, and from a design perspective, I think Tetris is wonderful. I am currently addicted to Pokemon GO. That game, which I play with my wife, is a dream come true for me because I can play it with the whole family. I’ve been enjoying that game for about two years now, along with my wife and friends from the neighborhood. The average age of people playing Pokemon GO in Japan is probably around 60. ” Said, Miyamoto.
