The Xbox Series X and S have become the fastest-selling Xbox consoles
Microsoft last night released business results for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year. As part of the same, boss Satya Nadella boasted about the fact that the Xbox Series X and S are by far the fastest-selling consoles in Xbox history.
Revenues from sales of Xbox consoles in the period between April and July this year were 172% higher than in the same period last year period which is not surprising because in 2020 they did not sell Xbox Series consoles but only Xbox One.
Microsoft’s overall gaming revenue increased 11% from the spring of 2020, but primarily due to console sales as revenue from Xbox games and services fell 4%.
Microsoft did not comment on the current number of Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Earlier this year, they officially announced that the number of subscribers had reached 18 million. The jump to 23 million subscribers was unofficially mentioned in the fourth month, but this was not confirmed by Microsoft.
