The original Quake will receive a revitalized version with additional content

The program for the QuakeCon 2021 convention was announced yesterday, and after a very long year, there will be talking about the game that stands in the name - the old-fashioned shooter Quake. After a brief description of one of the panels, we find out that Quake is back - in the sense that he will get a kind of remaster of the first game.

However, the word remaster is not mentioned, but "revitalization", which is probably the same. The project is being worked on by the Machine Games studio, known for its newer Wolfenstein games. And it is stated that additional content has been made for the revitalization of Quake, which means that this could be a remake rather than a remaster.

We’ll find out more about it next Friday, Aug. 20 when QuakeCon takes place.

It is worth noting that the legendary Quake 2 got a kind of remaster with raytracing effects two years ago, but the team from Nvidia was fully in charge of that, which is a different situation. In addition, Quake 2 RTX was not a separate game but just a free add-on for original owners.
