Over the next eight months, 12.5 million PlayStation 5 consoles will be produced

In the first eight months of the PlayStation 5 console's existence, 10.1 million copies were delivered. Sony states that it will deliver even more consoles in the next eight months, even though we are in the middle of a global shortage of semiconductors, ie chips.

Sony's chief financial officer told investors that the company had taken certain measures and provided enough production materials to reach the figure of 22.6 million PS5 consoles delivered by the 4th month. In other words, it will produce 12.5 million consoles over the next eight months.

"Regarding the semiconductor shortage, we're not worried." - said Hiroki Totoki from Sony.

If all manufactured consoles manage to sell by the fourth month of 2022, the PlayStation 5 will be more successful than the PlayStation 4 in its first fiscal year.
