Resident Evil 4 VR is coming next month
In case you have Oculus Quest 2, Facebook has just filled out your Halloween schedule. Resident Evil 4 VR arrives on October 21, it was announced. It has been confirmed once again that the game will be exclusive to Oculus Quest 2 - which means that it will not be supported by previous generations of Oculus devices.
We also got an expanded view of the gameplay showing first-person shooting in very recognizable sections of the cult horror game. As we have already learned, players will see their energy on the left hand and will be able to control two weapons at the same time, each in a separate hand.
However, we now learn that the game will not be entirely from a first-person perspective. Directed animations will continue to run as in the standard edition, and this includes quick-time event segments that were often used during the game. In those moments, we’ll see Leon, probably like we’re watching a movie at the movies. The camera will also switch behind the character’s back in specific actions, such as when breaking a door with the foot.
It doesn't sound very ideal, but you should keep in mind that this is a 17-year-old game that was not made with the intention of one day ending up as a VR title.
