Ubisoft has reportedly given the green light for the new Splinter Cell game
The return of the stealth series Splinter Cell has been awaited for years, and it seems that Ubisoft has finally decided to answer the prayers of the fans. Sources close to the French company claim that a new Splinter Cell game is being prepared, but this time part of the main series, and not some VR project or mobile title. It was not revealed which studio is working on the new Splinter Cell, it was only said that it is not Ubisoft Montreal.
The game has just started to develop, but it is not excluded that it will be announced in 2022. Ubisoft otherwise needs the announcement of a new game that would cheer up the fans and leave a positive impression. Their latest projects such as Ghost Recon Frontlines and XDefiant have not garnered audience sympathy, nor has the planned remake of Prince of Persia. On the other hand, they haven't shown anything related to their long-awaited games Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Skull & Bones for years.
As for Splinter Cell, there have been rumors before that a new game is in development. But Sam Fisher eventually had only a few guest roles in Ghost Recon and Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad mobile game, which has since been shut down.
