A new project of the creators of Mafia 3, worth 53 million dollars, has been canceled
There was a cancellation of a game that was never formally announced. The publishing house 2K Games has decided to stop the development of the game on which the Hangar 13 team, known for the last two games from the Mafia series, was working. The project, codenamed Volt, was worth as much as 53 million US dollars, and they have been developing it since 2017.
According to some unofficial information, it was an open-world game similar to Saints Row, only with a specific SF plot - more precisely, a cthulth theme. Reportedly, the game was supposed to be unveiled in 2021, but the comparative operation situation due to the COVID-19 virus did not help. In 2K Games, they finally lost patience with the game after four years.
Interestingly, the employees of Hangar 13 found out about the cancellation of their project when everyone else did, without prior warning. It is not known what he will work on now, but it is always possible that he will return to the Mafia series.
