The former Uncharted director is working on a new Marvel game
Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s Avengers. You get it, Marvel’s content is just punching. This isn't a bad thing because we have the opportunity to explore the worlds of superheroes we know, no matter how popular they are. We have now learned that another such game is coming to us in the future.
The new Marvel game will feature Skydance Interactive, a studio known for its very well-received VR game The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. We know almost nothing about the game, except that it will be an action-adventure title with an original and rich story. We should find out more details sometime in the future when the studio will be ready to talk more about the title itself.
What’s interesting about making this unnamed Marvel game is that Amy Hennig is also working on it. The former Uncharted creative director and screenwriter worked on the first three games of the series and partly on the fourth before leaving Naughty Dog studio. Rich in this experience, she is very well acquainted with the world of action-adventure games, and we do not doubt that this project will go in the desired direction.
Hopefully, this game won’t end up like the canceled Star Wars that Hennig worked on when she was at Electronic Arts. She then joined the Visceral Games in search of new challenges, and together they were to create an action-adventure from the Star Wars world. But that project failed, and Amy left EA, settling into Skydance Interactive.
Either way, we know the new Marvel game is in development and we’ll probably have to wait a while for it. This will certainly not be difficult for us because we will get Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine in the coming period.
