Hackers totally break PlayStation 4 protection, new jailbreak will affect PlayStation 5
The PlayStation 4 may have completely lost the battle against hackers and thus pirates. Namely, yesterday confirmed the latest jailbreak "signed" by hackers SpecterDev, Znullptr, and ChendoChap, and allows the modification of the vast majority of consoles on the market - those that have not been updated in the last two weeks.
Consoles with firmware version 9.00 or earlier are not immune to this security breach. The current firmware for the PS4 is currently 9.03 and hackers are already working to break through the protection of that version. In case they succeed, it will be the first time in the history of the PlayStation 4 that all consoles on the market can be modified. So far, jailbreaks have usually lagged behind newer versions of firmware for a year or two.
One of the hackers also said that this method of breaking protection will have an impact on hacking the PlayStation 5 console. However, there will be nothing from that until further notice because the main hacker in the team has still not managed to buy a PS5 console.
