Star Wars Eclipse is a new action-adventure from the creators of Detroit and Heavy Rain
Once upon a time in a distant, distant galaxy, a rumor surfaced that the creators of the adventure games Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human were working on a Star Wars-based game. Last night at the Game Awards ceremony we received confirmation that this is indeed the case - the next game of Quantic Dream will be Star Wars Eclipse.
It’s an action-adventure with a ramified story. As is usually the case in the games of this studio, the player’s decisions will have a dramatic impact on the course of the story. The Star Wars Eclipse is set in the High Republic era, the golden age of the Jedi, in the then unexplored region of Outer Rome. It will have unique new characters that we have not seen in other Star Wars games, movies, and series so far, but the trailer suggests that we will also see some famous faces.
It is stated that Star Wars Eclipse is in the early stages of development, so we do not expect it before 2023 or 2024. The platforms for which the game is being developed have not been confirmed, but it is clear that this is a project for the current generation of hardware. In translation, SW Eclipse is likely to be played on PC, PS5, and XSX / S platforms.
