Resident Evil and Monster Hunter are setting new earnings records for Capcom
The Japanese company Capcom has been making record profits for the past five years. They made a lot of money in the period from the tenth month to the end of 2021 without launching a single game. It is the result of well-received hits such as Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise.
Resident Evil Village sold 5.7 million copies as of last year, while Monster Hunter Rise had more than eight million players by Jan. 18.
Interestingly, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which turned five this week, is also selling very well. How well the game is selling is shown by the fact that RE7 has sold more than a million copies each year and has been played by 10 million players so far.
In the future, Capcom plans to rely on other series as well. This year they are celebrating the 35th birthday of the Street Fighter series, and they have announced that they are preparing new announcements on that occasion.
