Steam started well in 2022 - a new activity record has already been set

It has been just over a month since a new record in user activity was set on Steam for the third time in 2021. Winter discounts have taken their toll, so a record number of players was found on Steam in early 2022. Yesterday, January 2, 2022, 27,942,458 players registered on Steam. Very close to the new million, or half a million players more than the previous record.

As usual, of those users who logged in to Steam at the same time, just under a third played a game. There were a total of 8.2 million in-game. There were no big surprises on the list of the most played games. CS: GO, Dota 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Apex Legends, Team Fortress 2, and GTA 5 were played, among others.

Winter discounts on Steam are still ongoing. It will run until this Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m., so you still get to get what you planned and leave a voice in the Steam Awards along the way.
