Some players have trouble upgrading Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 5
Cyberpunk 2077 received the appropriate versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox
Series X / S yesterday. For owners of games on old consoles, upgrading to the
so-called next-gen is free and painless, since the progress made from the PS4
/ XBO version can also be transferred. However, some players from Europe ran
into a problem when upgrading to the next-gen.
Namely, if you have
a physical release of Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 4, ie on Blu-ray,
you can only get an upgrade to the PS5 version if the region of your active
PSN account matches the region where the game was purchased. This is a problem
because, in some regions, copies of the game were sold that were not intended
for those regions, so now there is confusion and users do not see the option
to upgrade the game.
The solution exists and involves
creating a new user account for the region for which the physical
instance of the game is intended. It is not ideal for trophy collectors, but
for now, it is the only solution offered.
