Construction mechanics have been temporarily removed from Fortnite

If you played Fortnite in main battle royale mode yesterday, you could see an unusual change. The mechanics of building objects were thrown out of the game, which made Fortnite specific among other battle royale games. In competitive play mode, as well as in Creative mode, object building is still present.

In the main mode, the gameplay is now reduced solely to moving and shooting with other players. The news is that players have additional protection, the so-called over shield, and only the movement is accelerated, and a new option of breaking the door in the race has been added.

This change is part of a wider story in Fortnite, but it is not permanent. It is supposed to last for nine days, but that has not been confirmed yet.

In addition to the mentioned change, Epic Games announced that they plan to donate all the proceeds from the game, made from March 20 to April 3, to charity for the residents of Ukraine affected by the war.
