TOP 5 Best Batman Games
The movie hit The Batman is heading to theaters. Judging by the first reviews, Batman fans could be happy with the new film. And then they’ll probably want to play some new Batman game… that doesn’t exist. Luckily, Batman has a few old games that are quality - and a bunch of those that aren’t. We have therefore taken it upon ourselves to list five Batman games that we consider to be the best in our subjective opinion.
We have limited ourselves to games in which Batman is the main character, so you will not find the otherwise great Injustice series on the list. Although you already know which series about Batman is the best in the world of games, still look at the list and give a chance to the following Batman games:
1. Batman (NES version)
The 1990 action platformer for the NES console brought us one of the
best soundtracks of the 8-bit era. In the game, Batman had to defeat five
opponents, and each level was quite challenging. I remember as a kid getting
to level four, pausing the game, and running out into the street to brag to
the neighborhood about that success. And then I spent all my lives very
quickly and had to start from the beginning.
2. Batman Returns (SNES version)
We just started, and Batman is back! For the Batman Returns from 1993,
the Konami team was responsible, then the fear and trepidation of the industry
thanks to their series Contra and Castlevania. It was a 2D beat’em up game
that conveyed the atmosphere of Burton’s film is a pretty good way. The
feeling of shaking still seems satisfactory today, and in the version for
SNES, even Batmobile could be driven. The only drawback of the game is that it
is quite short.
3. LEGO Batman
There was a time when LEGO Batman was the best Batman game. The Dark
Ages - did not happen again, without insulting LEGO Batman. This game stood
out with the possibility of cooperative play (Batman was helped by Robin), and
it is specific in that, unlike other serious games, it has a humorous note, as
it usually happens in LEGO games. The Cube Adventure was a success and spawned
two more games.
4. Batman: The Telltale Series
Telltale’s Batman came to us in 2016 at a time when Telltale’s
adventures had already become predictable. However, this was one of Telltale's
better works in the end, especially in the second season. The peculiarity of
Telltale's games is that they are more games about Bruce Wayne than about
Batman himself. In addition, this series played on the map of Batman's
detective skills more than on action - much like Matt Reeves' upcoming film.
5. Batman: Arkham City
Rocksteady’s series Batman: Arkham presents arguably Batman’s best
adventures. The only question is - which part of Arkham is the best? We are
very skeptical between Asylum and City. Asylum, however, was the first title
of its kind and a very pleasant surprise. The city was a more meaningful,
free, and diverse game, but our expectations of it were high.
Who to give preference to in the end? We will opt for Batman: Arkham City. The
reason is that City offers a wider range of Batman interactions with various
villains that were only hinted at in Asylum. Plus, its ending is more
significant than in Asylum. All in all, you can’t be a Batman fan without
playing Arkham City.
By the way, did you know that most of these
Batman games are on sale this weekend? Hurry to Steam, PS Store, and Microsoft
