Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been moved to 2023
This fall we were supposed to watch the sequel to the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The release date for Across the Spider-Verse: Part One was set for October 7, but Sony Pictures Entertainment announced yesterday that they are moving the premiere to next year. The new launch date is June 2, 2023.
This is the second postponement for this film, which according to the original plan should have already been launched.
In addition to the eight-month delay, Sony has also announced a change in the name of this film. "Part One" has disappeared from the title, so the film will only be called Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. For the avoidance of doubt, it will continue to be a two-part film, the second half of which will follow on March 29, 2024.
In Across the Spider-Verse we will once again follow Miles Morales who will team up with the Spider-People team to stop the powerful villain.
