See What the Canceled Half-Life Game - Ravenholm - Looked Like
"We're not going to Ravenholm anymore" - is one of the cult sentences from the equally cult Half-Life 2. And indeed, we didn't go to the ruined city of Ravenholm anymore, but if we were lucky - we could have gone. Two years ago, the YouTube channel noclip revealed that the Arkane studio, responsible for Dishonored and Deathloop, was working on a spin-off game of the Half-Life series, which was supposed to take place in Ravenholm. But the whole thing was canceled even before the players started praying for Half-Life 3.
Now noclip has decided on an unusual move - they released a video of the gameplay and the canceled game. And we're not just talking about a short clip of an unfinished version, but an hour of gameplay from a total of five game chapters. In the video, we have the opportunity to see zombified types of opponents that were not in Half-Life, as well as other types of weapons, such as pistols with nails. There are also new mechanics such as absorbing electricity and transmitting it to objects, among other things.
Of course, none of this will be turned into a game - as we said, Ravenholm was canceled long ago. Anyway, it's interesting to see what could have happened, that fate was a little different.
