The game Beyond Good and Evil 2 has found its writer
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is technically the game with the longest development process. The game was first revealed in 2008 and was canceled several times, only to be revived in 2018 and then briefly seen only once more in 2019. Since then, the creator of the original left Ubisoft, nothing was heard about the project, and everything indicated that the game was quietly canceled for the umpteenth time.
However, earlier this year there was information that the game is still in development, but also the pre-production phase. Then these days there was a rumor that the first testing for Beyond Good and Evil 2 could start soon. At first, this is contradictory information, but it can still be concluded that the game is indeed in development after all these years. This is confirmed by the announcement that he now has a main writer/screenwriter, and that is Sarah Arellano.
Arellano previously worked as a narrative designer for World of Warcraft and the upcoming Saints Row. Previously, screenwriter Gabrielle Shrager, responsible for the story of Valiant Hearts: The Great War, was attached to Beyond Good and Evil 2.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a sequel to the action-adventure from 2003, but conceptually it has very few links with that game. The game is designed as a large online adventure with optional co-op, flying mechanics, and exploration of the entire galaxy. We got the most concrete representation of the game three years ago, here's how it looked then:
